Daniel Skuta left the Jacksonville Jaguars following two successful seasons at linebacker—having enjoyed sharing the field with NFL
greats and performing for a loyal fan base each game between 2015 and 2016.
Now retired from the game, Skuta looks back on a memorable
tenure with the city’s favorite local franchise—as well as the historical year
the Jaguars enjoyed throughout the magical 2017 season.
A Team for the Ages
Daniel Skuta watched as the 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars quickly
became one of the most dynamic and imposing teams to have ever marched out onto
the professional gridiron.
Composed of such greats as Calais Campbell, Yannick Ngakoue and
Malik Jackson, the 2017 Jags posted a record-breaking 10-sack performance
during the opening day rout of the Houston Texans—and completed the year with a
league-leading 55 sacks and AFC Championship berth.
It wasn’t long before the 2017 season that Skuta and others started the Sacksonville philanthropic brand—a t-shirt brand that celebrates the Jags defense and supports the local community to this day.
