Daniel Skuta - Two Performance Psychology Tips

Dan Skuta, former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker, knows the mental side of sports matters just as much as the physical.

As a professional football player for more than nine seasons, Daniel Skuta shares the following performance psychology tips below that will help you ready for your next game.

Talk to Yourself

Even though everyone has an internal monologue, an athlete's inner monologue can help improve athletic performance. An athlete's inner monologue encourages them to keep going throughout every game they play. Keeping your inner monologue positive is one of the best ways to keep yourself pumped, focused, and motivated.

Have a Routine

Sports are exciting because of the uncertainty before every game. However, that uncertainty can stress an athlete out. Routines allow you to dominate and control at key points in the game, calming you and helping you play to your ultimate potential.
